Brief annotation
The Japanese naval miracle of the early 20th century, which turned the Land of the Rising Sun into a superpower, was made possible only by the amazing rationalism of the "Teikoku Kaigun" (Imperial Navy) - in contrast to the squabbles and swaying reigns in the naval headquarters and admiralty of many countries (and especially in Russia), the Japanese have made almost no mistake, having taken from the Allies-English all the most advanced - equipment, tactics, combat training, base and supply system - and in the shortest possible time creating "with a clean sheets" modern fleet, dominating the Far Eastern waters. And its core and the main strike force were six excellent battleships of the British building, which played a decisive role in the war against Russia. However, "Hatsuse" and "Yashima" did not live to the general battle, in May 1904, having detonated mines near Port Arthur, but "Fuji," "Shikishima," "Asahi" and the flagship of Admiral Togo "Mikasa" became the main Triumphofathema TSUSIM. They were the heads of the 1st combat detachment, shooting Russian battleships one by one. It's their 12-inch 400-kilogram "suitcases" that caused extensive damage to our ships, turning their add-ons and unarmored extremities into piles of scrap metal, causing numerous fires, flooding and tipping. However, the phenomenal blasting effect of the shimoza had to be paid for by the increased risk of self-destruction - just a week after the signing of the peace treaty, Mikasa sank from the detonation of the ammunition and returned to service only 3 years later. And in 1926, the famous battleship was turned into a museum - introduced into a specially dug pit in Yokosuka and covered with earth on the waterline, it is preserved in this form to this day ... In the new book of the leading historian of the fleet, you will find exhaustive information about the creation, combat application and post-war fate of all Japanese armadillos without exception. The collector's edition on top quality chalked paper is illustrated with hundreds of exclusive drawings and photographs.
