The monograph examines the main trends of the development of the Soviet state and society, analyzed the content of the Soviet era in terms of its organic connection with the history of Russia as a whole. Research practices are carried out on the basis of the developed methodology, revealing the phenomenology of the Soviet era. The book shows the political mechanisms that triggered the power vertical in the Soviet Union. Particular attention is paid to the activities of the CPSU as the main structure of the Soviet political system. A significant place is reserved for consideration of industrial and military-industrial policy in the USSR in the context of the strategy to strengthen the national security of modern Russia. The logical continuation of the research part of the work was published by the author documents, including archival and literary. They reflect the Soviet era as a historical integrity, demonstrate many facets of Russia's historical past and modernity, and give a geopolitical context to Russian politics.
