The book includes scientific and documentary studies based on documents of the State Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine and other archives, which tell about the operations of Soviet special services in the religious sphere of Ukraine in the 1920s-1960s. The documents of the UGPU-NKVD-KGB bodies, which have become the main tool of the policy of state atheism and persecution for faith, contain unique information about the state of the religious environment of Ukraine, while revealing the cynical mechanism of intelligence and operational work and repressionagainst Orthodoxy and other religious movements. A separate section of the book tells about the tragic fates of prominent figures of the Orthodox Church, who were victims of god-worship and lawlessness. In the year of the 70th anniversary of the Lviv Church Cathedral and the liquidation of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the author details the role of special services in these dramatic processes.
