Jacques-French - so called friends-zeki Jacques Rossi (1909-2004). A linguist, a polyglot, an artist, a staunch communist, a secret agent of the Comintern, a prisoner who had served twenty years in Stalin's prisons and camps, he gained fame as the author of a valuable study, the Gulag Handbook, which was conceived behind the Arctic Circle, on the lumberjack and "buildings of communism", contrieving with the risk of life to hide the collected materials. Returning to France in 1964, he considers it his duty to testify to what he saw and experienced, relentlessly exposing the communist idea.
