In one volume, three books by the remarkable Russian writer, local historian and journalist M.I. Pylyaev (1842-1899) are published, which became a kind of encyclopedias of the life of the two capitals and their surroundings. They contain historical information, oral stories of contemporaries, drawing the way of life and manners of St. Petersburg and Moscow in the 18th and 19th centuries.
