Shambala (16+) - Rerikh Nikolai Konstantinovich

Nikolai Roerich - an outstanding philosopher, wonderful artist and writer, traveler and public figure - is one of the brightest personalities in the history of world culture. In this edition, two works by Roerich, Shambhala and Heart of Asia, in which the scholar, talking about the mythical country of Shambhala, its meaning and the Great Ruler, tried to convey to the West "the most sacred word" and "the cornerstone Asia." The image of Shambhala became one of the central in Roerich's work. Most of the stories about this "The Firm of Great Knowledge and Light" Roerich learned during the famous Central Asian Expedition (1923-1928), during which travel diaries were created, published later under the title "Heart of Asia." The main part of these notes are miraculous descriptions of ancient cultures, discoveries of secret knowledge of the East and philosophical observations of Roerich, about which Leonid Andreev wrote: "The brilliant imagination of Roerich reaches the limits beyond which it becomes already clairvoyance. Images of immaterial, deep and complex, like dreams, it puts in the clarity and beauty of almost mathematical formulas, in the colorfulness of colors, where behind the most unexpected transitions and combinations invariably one feels the truth of the Creator."
