Brief annotation
The object of the study was 47 similar events - ceremonial receptions (banquets) held in the Kremlin with the participation of Stalin and his inner circle in the mid-1930s - 1940s.
Based on archival documents and published sources, the author traces the process of the origin of the tradition of their conduct, gives an idea of the topography of events, clarifies the main reasons on which these ceremonial events were arranged.
The role functions of the participants of the large Kremlin receptions have been revealed, the issues of the ceremonial conduct and etiquette are considered. An analysis of the contents of Stalin's three dinner speeches (April 22, May 5, 1941 and May 24, 1945) were presented, which were of a prescriptive nature.
A general conclusion has been made that the receptions in the Kremlin of the 1930s-1940s. were a form of communication in the Soviet political environment.
The annex to the monograph includes numerous, previously unknown, documents from the RGALI foundations, as well as excerpts from the diary of journalist L.K. Brontman. The author's monograph is published a list of 750 participants of large Kremlin receptions with brief biographical information on each of them.
