Archeography is the science of finding, studying and publishing historical documents. Behind the word "archeography" hides fascinating, almost detective stories about finding information about the distant or recent past, allowing you to learn and understand this past. The author of the book, R.G. Pihoya, had to search for and study documents on the history of Domongolian Rus - monuments of ancient Russian penitent law, for ten years to lead the Ural archeographic expedition, which gathered about 6,000 ancient Russian handwritten and old-printed books, and then - from 1990 to the beginning of 1996 to lead the archival business in the country, to conduct what was called in science "archive revolution." Another topic that runs through the entire book is the personal history of becoming and an active archeographer historian against the background of the history of Russia.
