Russia was part of the 20th century backward agricultural country, whose agriculture froze at the level of feudalism. Four-fifths of the population of the Russian Empire lived in villages, and most of the peasants even starved to feed themselves. Two attempts to carry out agricultural reform - 1861 and 1906. - failed miserably. The first because of laziness and obliqueness of landlords. The second is because of the instinct of self-preservation of peasants.
The Bolsheviks who came to power tried to support the agricultural sector, but it was technically impossible. Soviet Russia was going to a complete economic collapse. And then the government did the impossible, having carried out an incredible agrarian reform. And immediately after its completion, Hitler came to power in Germany. Oh, of course, this is just a coincidence, not a recognition by the "world community" of the fact that Russia itself will not fall apart, and now it will have to be destroyed by force.
