In one "unnamed European country", in a provincial town, where there is endless rain, and live gloomy, indifferent people, popular writer Victor Banev watches the mysterious forces, gradually changing the local atmosphere and imperceptibly affecting the moral image of the citizens. Mutant intellectuals, called wet, whom the government is trying to keep under control, bring up the children of the city, making them geeks. As a result, it is the children who pass the verdict to the deceitful world of adults, leaving the city.
