June 1812. Napoleon crosses Neman, Bagration in a hurry retreats. The division of the enemy army stops at the post in the estate of the princes of Lipetsk - Privole. Forced to share the roof with a French major and a military surgeon, Lipetsky kept a tense truce. Soon, however, a terrible thing happens in Privol, and Buonaparte has nothing to do with it. Unknown murderer steals serfs girls, who are later found strangled.
