"Twelve Chairs" (1928) - a novel written almost a century ago, is still on the ear. The story of how Ostap Bender together with his "partner" Kisa Vorobyaninov trying to find the diamonds of Madame Petukhova, hidden in one of the 12 chairs of the furniture headset, gained fame truly "folk classics." The names of the heroes - charming adventurers - became a household name, and the novel itself went into quotations, having withstood hundreds of successful reprints and translations to other languages. The book, which has not yet been solved to the end: do the heroes have prototypes, who hides behind the figure of Ostap Bender? Perhaps these riddles will remain riddles forever.
