Herfried Munclair (born 1951), professor of political science at Humboldt University in Berlin and a member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, dedicated his work to the phenomenon of empire: types of imperial domination, forms of expansion and consolidation; differences between maritime and continental empires, trade and military, imperial order of control of space and flows (people, goods, capital). Going beyond this subject, the author aims to explore the general principles of the logic of world domination in history. The heir to the empires of the past, he sees America and seeks to anticipate the duration and stability of the existence of the American empire, as well as to understand how Europe should behave, so that, on the one hand, to be able to resist as an independent political forces, on the other hand, are able to strengthen their unstable, trying to inedo the margins and have a positive impact on their neighbours.
