Nikolai Stepanovich Gumilev (1886-1921) - one of the best Russian poets and at the same time cautious, thoughtful, knowledgeable translator. In his translations Gumilev tried to inspire readers a love for world culture, which he managed with brilliance. This collection of translations is the first in Russia. The first volume included translated poetry books, poems by various authors, articles about foreign authors, as well as poetry translations. The second volume of the collection included epics, poems and dramas.
