Notre Dame Cathedral (1831) is Hugo's famous historical novel. It is thanks to its appearance that we can admire one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the world - in the heart of Paris. Hugo drew attention to the cathedral with his work, and did it intentionally, as Notre Dame was going to demolish. The author did not hide that the main character of his novel - the Cathedral of Notre Dame. But the reader will no doubt remember the vivid images of this book - the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, the noble, kind soul of the freak quasimodo, a treacherous priest tormented by forbidden feelings for Esmeralda, and many others. This novel, as well as the musical staged on it, songs from which we all know almost by heart, will leave no one indifferent.
