Brief annotation
The novel "The Ship of the Dead" (1926) marked the beginning of the world fame of B. Travan, an anarchist writer, a participant in the revolutionary unrest in Germany, who left Europe in 1924 and lived in Mexico for the rest of his days. Travan's books are rarely protested against the controlled world, against attempts to make the existence of the human individual completely "transparent". With the bureaucratic mechanisms of total control faces and the hero of his first great novel, a passportless sailor, getting on a dubious "box" - a modern ship - a ghost that becomes a grandiose symbol of the entire Western Civilization.
