Kratkaia istoriia novoi muzyki - Obrist Khans Ul'rikh

This book, like its predecessor with a consonant title ("A Brief History of Curation"), is made from oral stories. All interviews were conducted by its author, Hans Ulrich Obrist, sometimes with Philippe Parreno. At the center of the conversations are the most important (technological and intellectual) inventions of experimental avant-garde music of the 20th century, its connection with other forms of art and science, the ratio of sound and space, sound and time. Obrist's interlocutors include Karheinz Stockhausen and Terry Riley, Brian Eno and Janis Xenakis, Pierre Boulez and Caetana Veloso. The book replenishes the archive of modern culture, which Obrist carefully collects, documenting key events and strategies in the world of science and arts of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
