Brief annotation
The famous German writer Karl May (1842-1912) - one of the most popular authors, wrote in the adventure genre, his books have been translated into more than 30 languages and published in circulation more than a hundred million copies, they are staged numerous performances and movies.
The greatest success was brought to him by works about North American Indians, whose end-to-end heroes are the noblest of all the red-skinned Indian warriors Winnetand and his white brother - a brave hunter and pathfinder Old Shetterhand (The Hand of The Hand), a German by origin, These colourful, compassionate books by Carl May are largely based on the ideas of Europeans - especially Germans, Austrians, Czechs, Dutch - about American Indians, their struggle and their demise, about the struggle of Good and Evil in the Wild West, a vast space between Missouri and San Francisco
In the novel "Winnet" the reader is waiting for dangerous adventures, violent fights, frantic jumps, chases, meetings with Apaches and kamanches and, of course, with the main characters - Winnet and Old Shetterhand.
The novel reproduces a complete set of 45 illustrations by the famous Czech artist Josef Ulrich (1857-1930).
