The main canvas of this novel is deceptively simple - a young Stella, brought up by relatives, not without the influence of an eccentric uncle-theater comes to work in the theater and falls in love with the director. However, this unpretentious story is only an opportunity for the author to show in milestones the contradictory world of theatrical behind-the-scenes. A world in which, as if on the island of Peter Pan (a fairy tale about which, in fact, gave the novel the name) inhabited by "lost boys", stubbornly unwilling to grow up and perceive life as a fascinating game. A world in which, as in a good play, a lot of untold and secret and everything is not what it seems. Here hearts are broken, small and funny intrigues coexist with big and real human tragedies, and the plot, as if invented by some invisible playwright, inexorably moves to the finale.
