Robert Musil was born in Klagenfurt, Austria. After graduating from cadet school he entered the Higher Technical School in Stuttgart, then studied philosophy, psychology and mathematics at the University of Berlin. From 1924 Musil worked almost continuously, until the end of his life, on the greatest novel of the twentieth century - the Man without properties.
