Kreiser Kirov - Chaplygin Andrei Viktorovich

"Fast as a destroyer, and monumental as a battleship" - so in the pre-war years Soviet newspapers wrote about the cruiser "Kirov", which became the first large ship built in the USSR. Despite the fact that during the Great Patriotic War this handsome man did not have time to compete with the equivalent enemy, the artillery "Kirov" repeatedly smashed the fascists near Tallinn and Leningrad, and he was rightly considered the most glorious ship of the Baltic.
Kirov, as well as his fellow Voroshilov, Maxim Gorky, Kalinin, Kaganovich and Molotov, went down in history not only as the most modern and powerful ships of the Soviet fleet during the Great Patriotic War, but also as the ancestors of a generation artillery cruisers that remained the backbone of our fleet for two post-war decades.
