The book publishes the last large-scale work of the remarkable philologist Y.K. Shcheglov (1937-2009) - a literary and historical-cultural commentary on one of the iconic works of the 1960s - "The Stuffed Barrel" (1968) by V.P. Aksenov. Complex system of hints and silences, end-to-end references to modern literature, irony over the Soviet language and everyday life - all that was half-heartedly clear to the first readers of Bochkotra, for the current reader, of course, requires deciphering and explanation. At the same time, Shcheglov's comment is not only a virtuoso work of a scholar-scholar, but also apt observations of a memorable contemporary of the era and interlocutor Aksenov, who had time to appreciate the work prepared for publication.
