Writer, historian and ethnographer Viktor Berdinsky made an attempt to show the Russian peasant as he was and is in his own home, in a natural setting, alone with himself. His book focuses primarily on everyday life, moral principles, customs, traditions, oral folk art, colloquialism - and even given the dictionary of the folk talk sample of 1907 and the lexicon of winged expressions with author's interpretations... At first glance, it seems that all this went into oblivion with the Russian peasantry during the persecution of it during the years of collectivization. However, having dissolved in time and grandiose conflicts, the peasantry remained in us, in every cell of the people's body, even if we ourselves do not realize it.
