Anatoly Novoseltsev, a connoisseur of ancient languages, analyzed in the original Russian, Jewish, Arabic, Persian, Latin, Armenian, Georgian, Syrian, Byzantine written sources, and thus in his book were collected practically all mentions of Hazara. At the same time, he carefully approached the achievements of archaeology, and the result was a book that has no analogue in Russian literature. The scientist traced the history of the Hazaras from the time of their origin and power, when they competed on equal terms with the strongest state of the region Arab caliphate, until the defeat of the Hazara Kaganate, in which the decisive role was played by the Ancient Russian state. The book focuses on the Hazara religion, which provides information on the state system, cities, economy and trade of Hazara. Anatoly Novoseltsev (1933 - 1995) - historian, orientalist, prominent polyglot, member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in 1988 - 1993 director of the Institute of Russian History.
