"The History of the Candle" is a work of the great English physicist and chemist, a member of the Royal Society of London M. Faraday (1791 - 1867). This book (1860) is a course of lectures, which was read by the author for a youthful audience. Faraday tells them about the various laws of nature associated with burning candles. The book will give genuine pleasure to the schoolboy, teacher, student, and physicist. Faraday, who has studied the processes of physics, wrote: "The phenomena observed in the burning of candles are such that there is no law of nature that is not affected in any way. The examination of the physical phenomena occurring when burning a candle is the widest way to approach the study of natural science."
