Growing up in a family far removed from the traditional notion of parenting, Jeannet Taindh knows more than anyone else what it's like to live in a world where you have to suffer from the suprathing, the unbalance of your own parents. Twelve-year-old Bean Holliday and her fifteen-year-old sister Liz get into a difficult situation: their frivolous mother, trying to make a career as a singer, comes to a nervous breakdown and leaves indefinitely. In order not to be in the shelter, the girls go to the only relative in Virginia. They are beginning to get used to a new, relatively quiet life, but, alas, they will face another test, perhaps scarier than all the previous ones.
