In a sense, it is not just reprints, but an attempt to make a modern book, preserving the logic and energy of the first editions. These are not reprints and purely technical: some books used original illustrations from museum and private collections, and on the original drawings - fonts and inscriptions are not present, we reconstructed them in such cases. The idea was to preserve the attractiveness of the drawings themselves, to leave the opportunity to perceive these books as children's, but at the same time to emphasize the importance of artists for the history of the national fine art of the 20th century. It is no secret that in children's illustration found refuge a whole galaxy of creators (or heirs) of the avant-garde, deprived of other sites of realization. "Leningrad School", the circle of petrov-Vodkin's students and the staff of the editorial office of V. Lebedev - before us a living history of suppressed Russian modernism, many artists (as well as a number of writers) for years successfully embodied in children's literature what seemed to be impossible in the official mainstream. Therefore, each book is accompanied by a short postscript of a specialist, placing the work in the context of art history.

Together turned out books for children and their parents, and for collectors and connoisseurs of fine art, books that can be viewed and read, and can be considered and studied. albums of outstanding graphic artists, artists of the second row of the Russian avant-garde. The consultant of the series is collector and gallerist Ildar Galeyev, who regularly conducts exhibitions and publishes catalogues of artists of that wave.
