At the center of the narrative of this, sometimes shocking, sharp and painful book is the Woman. The heroine, in her youth - a parachutist and a balloon pilot, having survived a personal tragedy, is forced to do a very different business in another country, you can say, in the mirror: she is a beautician, lives and works in New York.
A whole string of strange characters passes before her eyes, because, by the nature of her current profession, the heroine is faced with fantastic, today almost ordinary "gender-turned", with discouraging, and even repulsive pictures of society. And, strangely enough, from this garland, in the words of the heroine, "cripple" grows a grotesque, tragic, insignificant and high image of modern love.
