Viktor Shklovsky (1893-1984) is one of the most controversial figures of Russian literature. World-renowned literary critic, founder of the Society for the Study of Poetic Language (OPOYS), author of one of the best books about the revolution and the Civil War "Sentimental Journey" and the famous book "UOO, or Letters not about love" - and at the same time a member of the First World War II, who received the St. George's Cross for bravery; Eser, who fled from the Chekists on the ice of the Gulf of Finland, a white emigrant who became a successful Soviet literary figure. Many of Shklovsky's phrases became winged, many of his invented terms, definitions entered into literary studies and criticism (for example, "on the Hamburg account"), and the events of his life resemble an adventurous novel.
