Poet Anatoly Marienhof (1897-1962), modernist, revolutionary eccentric, master of shock, founder of the 'Order of The Imazhinists', is known mainly as the author of the memoir 'Roman without lies' (1927) about friendship with Yesenin. And now, almost a century later, 'Roman...' polemically excites the literary community ('lies without a novel', 'Trojan horse of The Reputation of Yesenin' etc.). The creativity of Marienhof himself, our nihilists, was considered to be eternally forbidden. Prilepin cleans his biography of rumors/speculations, tries to objectively answer the question, which asked the poet himself: 'What land, what country am I a child? / What tribe is the rebellious son?' His family 'dramaturgy' of a one-love-jealous-scandalist, and personal blows of fate... Marienhoff's biography is supplemented by a selection of his chosen poems. This book, written brightly, succinctly, boldly, without lopsided generalizations, will undoubtedly expand the reader's view of early Soviet literature. In addition, Prilepin prepares for printing the biography of S. Yesenin - and can really form a novel without lying.
