Zhivaia starina Ivana Shmelev - Surovova L.

The book reintroduces the reader to the creative history of the novel "Summer of the Lord" by I.S. Shmelev. The study restores the chronicle of the writing "Summer of the Lord" and reveals unknown facets of the history of the novel's creation: interaction with the children's theme in emigration, with the festive numbers of the expat periodics, with the social and spiritual life of the Russians Exiles. A special place in the book is given to Shmelev's stylistic findings. On the basis of new archival materials, the facts that influenced the creation of the "Summer of the Lord" are restored.
