Lev Gornung (1902 -1993) was a poet and photographer and author of a memoir about 20th-century Russian poets. The book, compiled by Tatiana Neshumova, was based on diary entries, which Gornung had been conducting since her youth. Separately stored in the public and private archives, the pages of this diary were recreated for the first time as a single text that affected several decades of life of the Moscow intelligentsia from the early 1920s to the 1980s.
The book also includes previously unpublished memoires, complementing the diary, as well as a small textbook of the poems mentioned. The publication is equipped with an introductory article, a detailed commentary and a name pointer.
