This book is a memoir by Dmitry Shepilov, editor-in-chief of Pravda newspaper, a member of the USSR's correspondent, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and later the Foreign Minister of the USSR. The author not only describes the events that took place in the 30-50s, but reveals the emotional, human side of these events. His memoirs are interesting with courage and independence of judgments about the current issues of public and political life, frank and hard-hitting characteristics of key political figures of the USSR.
