Mikhail Grobman (1939, Moscow) - poet and artist, in the 1960s belonged to the circle of Moscow nonconformist artists, one of the leaders and ideologues of the Second Russian avant-garde. In 1971 he moved to Israel, where immediately upon his arrival he wrote in his diary "I have everything i need for a mere mortal: talent, family, friends, freedom, a new life." As in Russia (Leviathan diaries, UFO, 2002), the artist is experimenting with different artistic practices, contrasting the local academic establishment with the search for new ways and various extraordinary projects. The records that made up this book (1971-1980) depict the chronicle of the life of the Israeli bohemian, literary and everyday life. Impressions of new circumstances and acquaintances, stories about exhibitions and museums, literary gatherings, disputes and actions are interspersed with reflections on life and art.
