Isabella Ebergardt (1877-1904) was a travel writer and author. A Russian citizen, she has never been to Russia; born and raised in Geneva, and she did not love her all her life. She shocked contemporaries with men's clothing, independence, love ties and, finally, conversion to Islam and life among nomads in the Sahara Desert. Her fate is so unusual that it seems an amazing novel written by an extremely talented writer - and the writer was herself, who created her life just as others create works of art. The one, which was called "Cossack in the Saharan expanses," "nomad, Russian soul," continues to amaze the imagination after its tragic death.
