The sLOVO/SLOVO publishing house continues the umberto Eco journalism series, launched in 2018 with the 2018 edition of "How to Travel with Salmon," which became a bestseller. The series came out: "Superman for the Masses," "Growing Memory, or Why the Book Remembers Everything," "Sketch of a New Cat and Other Non-Serious Things," "Black Box and Other Unnecessary Things." This book contains newspaper and magazine articles of the legendary Umberto Eco about the various aspects of Italian cultural (and not only) everyday life and those countries that in one way or another influenced the culture of Italy. The texts, picked up by the author himself and telling about the events in the political, social and cultural life of the country, are imbued with Umberto Eco's characteristic humor and merciless skepticism towards the eternal shortcomings of everyday life of the homeland. Although these essays were written and published in leading Italian periodicals in the late 1960s and early 1970s, they have not lost their relevance to this day, and in many of them Eco has predicted the events of our days.
