Once the French painter Paul Gauguin his colleague Edgar Degas compared to a wolf from the fable de LaFontaine. This hungry tramp started a conversation with a very well-fed dog, which rested after a meal, lounging in a peasant yard. The dog told the skinny and hungry wolf that every day the owner fed her and surrounded her with care. Such an easy life for the wolf liked, and he decided to stay with the peasants. But then I saw the chain on which the dog was planted. Will he also have to sacrifice his freedom? Never! So did Gauguin. He left women and children, cut off friendships and gave up a promising career. All for the sake of painting. Life threw Gauguin in different parts of the world: from England, Denmark and Spain to Martinique, Tahiti and Khiwa-Oa, islands in the Pacific Ocean, where he painted paintings that after his death glorified him all over the world.
