Zhemchug - Zinger I.-I.

Pearl is a collection of early stories by Yiddish literature by Yisroel-Yeshua Singer (1893-1944). Written in the twenties of the twentieth century, the stories are imbued with tension and drama. Whoever his heroes are - traditional Jews, assimilated Jews, non-Jews - there is no rest for anyone. His drama unfolds in everyday scenery, within one family, one room; Singer's daily life and routine becomes epic, formidable.
